Welcome to the Goalkeeping Newsletter.  This will be a short newsletter dealing with the number of players in a wall for free kicks around the 18.

It is extremely important to understand that what I am showing you here is a very general guideline.  Some of the factors that have to be taken into consideration are the skill of the player on the ball, range of the keeper and tendencies of the opposing team.

The best way I could do this was by making a drawing (and it IS A BEAUTIFUL DRAWING!!!) and put it on the site.  The drawing represents the defensive third of the field and the numbers show a recommended number of players in the wall.  The further out the ball is, the less numbers are needed in the wall.

I do strongly recommend a minimum of a one-person wall everywhere on the field.
