FineSoccer Kids 40

Welcome to the FineSoccer Kids Newsletter.  Today’s topic deals with passing when you should and not when you have to.

Too many players dribble and dribble and dribble and then when they have absolutely no where else to go they pass the ball to the person closest to them and then that player loses possession and takes the blame.  Instead of waiting and holding the ball until the very last minute, the person with the ball should look to pass the ball earlier to the player who is in a better position.

The key is to not wait until the last minute (like people do with many other things in their life) but rather do things when they are first available.

For example, as soon as you feel pressure (or if possible before you feel pressure), look for the simple pass away from pressure so that the next person can find a way to penetrate behind the defense.  By playing the ball when you should and not when you have to, you make yourself and your teammates much better.
